Dr Kai-Brit Bechtold, Senior Consumer Research Scientist at ProVeg International
Dr Kai-Brit Bechtold is a Senior Consumer Research Scientist at ProVeg International and a lecturer with extensive expertise in developments, trends, and data in the food sector. Before holding positions on the agency side for Nielsen and then on the industry side for Upfield (formerly Unilever), she worked as a Scientific Researcher (PhD and Postdoc) at the Department of Food Economics and Consumption Studies at the University of Kiel, where she investigated consumer preferences and willingness-to-pay for innovative food products. Her passion for sustainable food and her knowledge of insights into consumer trends and behaviour position her as a trusted food-industry expert.

 

Donovan Will (Moderator), Director, ProVeg South Africa

Donovan is the Director of ProVeg South Africa, the South African chapter of ProVeg International. Before moving to ProVeg to found their South African chapter, he was the Brand Manager at The Fry Family Food Co. (Fry’s), South Africa’s largest manufacturer of plant-based meat replacements, with distribution to over 30 countries.
Donovan is a leading voice in the plant-based food movement in South Africa, with a specific focus of connecting key stakeholders and demonstrating how healthy, sustainable and ethical food choices can also lead to greater food security, improved equality, and even increased profits. Before becoming involved in the plant-based food arena, Donovan held various financial management, audit and advisory roles. He has business science and accounting degrees from the University of Cape Town and the University of South Africa.
